It's All in the Game: Motivating Kids and Adolescent (Two Block Session)
Thursday, October 18, 2007 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
To motivate kids and adolescents, assistive technology must be fun and positioned not only for doing homework. Games can play a vital role in motivating children of all ages and helping them develop their skills, skills that will also contribute to academic success. Accessible games are seldom as much fun and challenging as mass-market games. Most kids, and certainly adolescents, quickly outgrow switch-adapted and other accessible games. In this fun workshop, you will learn how mass-market games for different age groups can be made accessible to children who cannot use a keyboard or mouse.
